I’d like to nominate “unknown” for inclusion on this list, frequently partnered with “story”. It’s reaching the point where when I see the phrase “the unknown story”, I stop reading and move on to the next book.

How did the author/publsihers know it was Churchill's 'last' secret?
Churchill wasn't even involved in the event... and the event/raid has since been largely discredited by historians and panned by readers (- see the critical reviews).

And why do you get so many titles starting with “Hitler’s ...”, “Stalin’s ...” or “Churchill’s ...” but rarely (that I can remember) “Roosevelt’s ...”?
