Re: B-17 Gremlin
Rolland. Late F-models had Bendix chin turrets, the first was 42-3504 ( 96BG) an F-75-DL re-designated from G-5-DL. The last Fs , block 130-BO had provision for these with a strengthened lower nose profile. Front-line units requested the "cheek" guns be retained in various installations.

To Alex Smart: You're welcome Alex.
As far as the art itself, I have been unable to find it. And yes, there were numerous Gremlins: Hitler's Gremlin, Gremlin Hideout, Red Gremlin and others. Ed |
Re: B-17 Gremlin
I can clearly see the main spar attachment gussets for the right wing so this aircraft came down fairly intact ( bellied or wheels down ) and the wing removed later.

Re: B-17 Gremlin
Well, I guess this bird will remain unknown. My thoughts are that it is early 8th AF, though it could be 12th AF also. I believe it was shot down from June-Sept 43, based on the red outline markings. Also the name was part of another name,i.e., Burt's Gremlin, Roving Gremlin, etc. with the first part painted over. I will keep looking though I may never find the answer.

Look at the 4th entry from the top. Unfortunately, you'll have to sign up to view the image.

Close up of the Gremlin image. Wonder what the colors are? Also, it looks like he is hitch-hiking.
