U.S. Iranian Mission - crash 28 Feb 1942 - VVS PS-84 (DC-3 type)
A little revival of my post from 2020.
Received word that the aircraft was a VVS PS-84 piloted by Major Kirill A. Mamonov, plus 3 other crew. C/n or registration not known. All 9 Russians and 3 Americans on board were killed in the crash. Among occupants also the commander of 152 Aviabaza at Abadan, Iran, a Soviet receiving point for American airplanes. If VVS experts know more about Major Mamonov, then happy to hear so.
