Stig,

I only brought up von Manteuffel-Szöge because I feel certain I've seen a Walfisch with the markings we're discussing, but can't find it and so FA (A) 292b is on my mind. However with regards to the units von Manteuffel-Szöge served in it would appear FA (A) 292b was among them. I suspect like myself you've seen him with Jastaschule II and Jasta 35b,but this site indicates wider service, which seemingly would make sense. Would a pilot commonly go directly from a cavalry unit unit to Jastaschule II. Anyway here's the link

Hmmm, could be I suppose

None of my books mention that however.
On the other side the reseracher Rick Duiven who is co-author to two of my books is not
very reliable either as can be seen here.

The book Jasta Pilots by Franks, Bailey & Duiven says he was with
Jasta 4 1 Sep 1916 - (March 1917)
Jastaschule II (undated)
Jasta 35 17 Feb 1918 - 8 May 1918

The book Schlachtflieger by Rick Duiven &Dan-San Abbott
33./KG 6 (undated)
Schutzstaffel 24 1 Jan 17 - 25 Jan 17
Armée Flug Park 6 (undated)

Oh well, luckily I only follow individuals as a side track. I am much more interested in the
aircraft....

Cheers
Stig
