Keith, I gave the JG26 details in an earlier post.
Here they are again.
Schneider Fw190 - 470237 Kia.
Reichmann Fw190 -530749 Kia.
Lissack Fw190 - 410207 Wia.
They were in combat with the 20 the FG's P38's.

As for JG2, they claimed 1 B24 and 3 P47's.

And 1/SKG 10 claimed a B17 at 1236 hrs.

Re: B-17 raid Frankfurt, 29 January 1944

JG26 does not seem like a bet. No pilots were lost to P-47s and Whisner was protecting a B-17 formation. JG-26 did claim B-17s but these seem like they were damaged B-17s flying alone. JG-2 seems possible but I don't see any losses on that date.

regards

Keith

Re: B-17 raid Frankfurt, 29 January 1944

Just a note to correct my earlier post, Whisner did not claim the pilot bailed out, in fact he only claimed it was diving, smoking badly. It may be the Fw190 reached home with a few holes. Sorry chaps, I seem to have mixed up the facts.
