Larry

Ingolf is an ancient nordic name probably dating back to the bronze age.
Ing refers to the deity and olf is a short form for wolf

I have never come across the name with a double g.

Kvam sounds very Norwegian to me and may indicate the person had his ancestry there.

Cheers
Stig

In this article from the Nashua (Iowa) Reporter 11 march 1942 Stanley Kvam is being described as in the RCAF, stationed at Bowden, Alberta. I believe the BCATP had a base there.

See: https://www.newspapers.com/clip/5875...shua-reporter/

Also see https://www.newspapers.com/clip/32295587/the-courier/ with article about his wedding, further (family) background and preliminary military training in the USA.

Thanks, Stig.
"Ingolf" was right over my head.............no clue.
"Kvam" left me with fleeting suspicions that it might be Norwegian or possibly an old Russian name dating back 1,000 years or more.

Chris

Since our late friend Frank Olynyk listed it as 30 April, can I assume it was a night claim, ie 29/30?

Cheers
Stig
