It seems anyone who went against the Wehrmacht, Luftwaffe or Kriegsmarine was ostracised after the War. Take in point the German Kriegsmarine sailor who blew up the explosives that were going to be used to destroy the port of Bordeaux. He ended up changing his name and becoming a French citizen, He never received a pension from Germany after the war, even though he had served from 1939. I have all the details somewhere.

The subject in Germany of who constitutes a traitor is pretty fraught, in light of the heavy politicisation of the July 20 conspirators postwar. Someone like Hans Speidel obviously benefited enormously from his association with the plot. To actively take up the Soviet cause, like the Seydlitz gang did, was for most Germans of that generation a bridge too far. Some of the more notorious members, such as Paulus, did not dare settle in the BRD but chose the DDR instead.
