Hallo Fliegerschicksal,
der Flieger am Absturzplazt scheint Obfw. oder Ofhr. zu sein...aber... gibt es ein anderes Foto von Johannes Schmitz?

Vielen Dank!

The correct name is Ofw. Heinz Weuack, 2./JG300.

Just out of curiosity, if Heinz Nevack never existed, why is he still listed on your home page?

Last name of what seems to be a claims list.
Weuack is on line 16 on that same list

Hi Stig,

it's because this info comes from Willi Reschke's book so I'm leaving this question still open. Willi Reschke unfortunatelly didn't remember where did he get this name and info from. Both names are very similar and some people write 'N' like a 'W' and 'n' like 'u' so that's why I also believe that Nevack = Weuack. I only donīt understand why Nevack is listed in I/JG302 while Weuack served at I/JG300. But thank you very much for head up. I just corrected the info on our web.
Anyway, Jean- Yves Lorant told me that Heinz Weuack from I./JG300 claimed a B-17 kill at Gottwaldov (Zlin today) on that day and this fact confirmed Hans- Werner Gross to Lorant as well but this kill was never confirmed to Weuack. That's why Lorant didn't mention this kill in his book. During my research I put all my cards on Weuack untill I got in touch with his son who sent me pics of his father. Heinz Weuack had blonde hair and it is not him on the pictures taken on the crash site...

Hallo Fliegerschicksal,

are you sure with Schmitz? Do you have some pics of him?

Thank you
