Where in the book did you find it? First chapter, I guess ;) .

Me again. I checked the german version "Himmel des Krieges", but there was no word about concrete runways to be found, at least in chapter One.

There were two or three different books by Pokryshkin, and I believe another version of his memoirs was published few years ago.
