Hey Erich, 'ol pal;
Have you taken a look back at the site of the 385th that Nick found? They have posted a new photo of "White 11". This is Wagner's Fw 190 A-8/R2. You can see the Mk 108 30 mm outboard cannon blast tubes in these photos. Also, Crashed Enemy Aircraft Report No. 234 records the armament as being 2 MK 108 30 mm cannons in the outboard position and 2 MG 151 20 mm cannons in the inboard position. And, you can see in these photos that typically the MG 131 13mm machine guns have been removed.
Why are you saying it had outboard 20 mm cannons instead of the 30 mm MK 108s? Just curious,
Your pal,
Jerry

hey Jerry, ah I note a photo at the bottom of page 102 of the Bodenplatte book ~ Pütz/Manhro but also looking closer it states under "restoration" / four 2cm cannon - oh great time for a face slap .......... it must be the Opa eyes acting up again...........

funny the pics via Nick and the 385 seem to show a cover over the outboard 3cm blast hole on the right wing. that cannot be right or ? as I mentioned my Monitor is not picking these up clearly. Interesting how faded out the white 11 is on the pics as well as the ones presented in other publications and even the several colour pics of the bird

I just returned from a short holiday and could not respond sooner. Of course this is Gefr. Walter Wagner's "weisse 11" who crashlanded his Fw 190 just outside the boundaries of St Trond airfield. Indeed these are the first pictures I have seen of this a/c before it was taken to the airfield by the 404th FG. Very interesting pictures.

Cheers,

John.

Ps. Ogfr. Peschel of 5./4 baled out of his Fw 190 near St.Trond and was taken prisoner on the a/f
