Pirna engine? http://avia.russian.ee/air/ddr/veb_152.php

I'm inclined to think that this may be a 'chase plane' type photo where the aircraft is above and to the left (?) of the aircraft with the engine.

Re: Is it a plane...?

I have no idea what it is.
I know it looks like a turbine, but the intake/exhaust is awfully small. Normally you don't see a cone sticking out past the nacelle on the intake side of a turbine. The opening behind the spinner is only a couple of inches wide and dented at the 9:00 position. Not good for an intake or exhaust for that matter. Just not enough airflow.
The black cable almost looks like some type of hoist cable laying there?

Regards,
Mike

the Pirna 014 when fixed to the Baade 152 had fairings, that made it look quite different.
BTW, the homepage of that picture is a very good reference about the Baade 152.
Best wishes
