Only problem is this sound books store is not answering emails...
I have ordered the first volume (only starting the collection now) via my fav bookstore in Vienna and they told me today that they haven't received anything from sound, no order confirmation, no bill no nothing...

No, even if I have been there once (way back), I was actually quoting from the movie an Ice cold in Alexandria, which a certain beer making company for a while made their own.

I liked the film and I certainly liked when John Mills sank his beer at the end and said "Worth waiting for"

Although you shouldn't think it possible, my book volumes Point Blank July and August 1944 cannot be delivered until the end of November - beginning of December due to a lack of paper (most probably due to the current delivery bottlenecks). I apologize for this!!!!!!!!

Since I have all your previous volumes they will all make another great contribution.

To those who are uncertain about what they contain, their greatest merit are their combined data.
You have all known claims and losses for each "western" front day-by-day on the same day.
Fred has gone to great length to provide us with that and I can only congratulate him to his great work

Regardless if it brings new data into the picture or not, it is very valuable to me
since it brings all claims and losses for all combatants in the "west" together for each day.

That in itself is worth the money many times over.
Only wish someone could do the same for 1942 and 1943....

Point Blank September 1944 Volumes 1 and 2 and October 1944 will be released on March 1, 2023. In the second half of the September Volume, a large part is dedicated to the Operation „Market Garden“. As always, the kills of anti-aircraft artillery (Flak-Abschüsse) are listed, and all claims of the participating Air Forces. Wish you a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year and stay healthy

The production costs for books in Germany are rising for a long time exponentially. This poses big problems, especially for small publishers like my own. In addition, there is still a glaring shortage of paper in Germany. There is no way I can pass on the increased prices to my readers. I would have to sell a book that normally costs around 50 Euros for around 80 Euros to compensate for the price increase. That really does not work. That's why I'm currently forced to wait until prices drop significantly again. I'm really sorry about that, but unfortunately there's no other way. I ask for your understanding of my current situation

Dear Fred, I think who is ready to pay 50 Euro for such a book, will also pay 80 Euro. So, I encourage you to go ahead, perhaps in a smaller print run, because I don't expect prices to fall back to pre-COVID levels anytime soon (if ever). My opinion.

I would suggest contacting printers in other countries. I have been in book publishing for 40 years and have seen paper prices either go up slowly or quickly. The bottom line is the only direction they go is up.

I have the volumes coveirng Jan, Feb, March & April and I do want to complete 1944 with the remaining volumes, as I find them invaluable for research on the RLV.

Am I reading it right that it is not worth placing an order for the remaining volumes at this moment in time? Are there any volumes from May onwards that you have in existing stock?

These are great research books and I do hope to be able to complete 1944.

So far 11 volumes have been published up to August 1944. Some of the latter months are published in two volumes.
I suggest you contact Rudi Penker again to get an offer for those volumes you don't have.

decision made regarding new "Point Blank" books. The September, October and November volumes will definitely be published in November and December this year. For about two month I have been in possession of all the mission reports of the 1st Tactical Air Force (prov.) from November 1944 to May 1945. Since there are currently no reports or books on the 1st TACAF, apart from the more general book by Victor C. Tannehill „First TACAF First Tactical Air Force in World War II“, I am currently incorporating the mission reports of the 1st TACAF in detail into the “Point Blank” books, so, that this gap in the history of the air war can finally be closed. The 1st TACAF includes the following squadrons: 111th Tactical Reconnaissance Squadron, 162nd Tactical Reconnaissance Squadron, 34th Photo Reconnaissance Squadron, 415th Night Fighter Squadron, 27th Fighter Group, 50th Fighter Group, 86th Fighter Group, 324th Fighter Group, 358th Fighter Group, 371st Fighter Group, 17th Bomb Group, 320th Bomb Group, Free-French Thunderbolt, Spitfire and B-26 Marauder Groups.
