'N' wouldbe B flight

B' Flight's Sergeant North (flying N2583) claimed the Hs 126 probably destroyed at 1825 hours:
'Green One (Squadron Leader Worrall) dived to attack [firing ..."

"Loud explosion coming from the direction of the port tank. The aircrfat caught fire (return
fire Hs126), my cockpit filled with acrid smoke. I put it down with the wheels in the up position in a
ploughed field approx 10 miles SE of Arras, near Pelves"

But this has no evidence of smoke or fire damage (though cannot see port wing) but not a ploughed field ??

But this is the best 'match' I can see at moment

Missing from Dunkirk Patrol. Held captive in Kopernikus camp.

and "into the sea off Calais; pilot bailed out, and survived, but was captured, and taken as a PoW"

Any other possibilities ??

Actually 51 Squadron Whitley Z6556 Trebeurden, 3-4 April 1941 (claim Flak Regiment 100).

Yes it is

Probably TG574 which crashed at Benina, Libya 20 Dec 1950.
It is the only Hastings accident which specifically states the aircraft turned on its back, crushing the flight deck.
