The first Go145 according to the 2nd photo should read as RP+NG. Does anybody have the three-digit W/Nr.? Thanks |
Re: eBAy: Captured german planes
The two Gotha's were RP+NN WNr. 556 and TD+BA WNr.1258.

Re: eBAy: Captured german planes
Better late than never. Is the damage to the Me 262 seen in the first picture of Rudi's post #850 (page 85) due to demolition or a notlandung?
Jim |
Re: eBAy: Captured german planes
No idea but I think that the following photos are from the same a/c. Maybe someone can identify the a/c after seeing these.

Re: eBAy: Captured german planes
Some German aircraft were partly destroyed using a grenade in the cockpit. Larger aircraft, depending on situation, had an explosive charge placed in the midsection.

Re: eBAy: Captured german planes
Thank you, Rudi and Ed.
From the above pictures, this seems to be a fully camouflaged Me 262 with a detached tail laying in an open field right beside the autobahn. I'm with Rudi hoping someone can identify it. Jim |
Re: eBAy: Captured german planes
Another picture of Me262.

Re: eBAy: Captured german planes
To me the damage looks definitely like it has been caused by an explosion.

Re: eBAy: Captured german planes
Hi Gents,
It does exist 12 photos of this Me262 found near Augsburg and pictured in June 1945 (and/or 1946) 1/ The last auction given on post #850 2 to 3/ Given by Rudi on post #902 4/ The one given by Spektor. 5 to 9/ former auctions three or four years ago and 10 to 12/ Published in Broken Eagle N°4 Me262 page 17. .... But, there are two others I just discovered checking my files (expired auction) ... Here there are. Enjoy them. Cheers, Franck. |
Re: eBAy: Captured german planes
Spektor and Franck,
Thank you for the additional photos. They are appreciated. I concur with Rudi. It does look like demolition. Jim |
