Hello Steve,
what is your source of the information of the W34?

Starmountain

What are you referring to?
Also please explain your WNr source since I cannot find anything even close to 005753 for any W 34.

Cheers
Stig

Hi Starmountain,

What you have here is a stupid error on my part. I am humbly sorry.

Those machines - Fw 190 and Ju 88 G-1 W.Nr. 712 373 "3C+FR", 7./NJG 4, are depicted in Juvincourt, France, late 1944.

As for the Hungarian Bf 109 G-6, this is a clear case of photo "lifting". It depicts the machine of Aladar de Heppes, an MWG-Györ built Bf 109 Ga-6, W.Nr. 95 220 "V8-12" depicted at Veszprém during the Summer of 1944. The photo stems from his personal collection.

Cheers

Re: eBAy: Captured german planes

Gents,

These photos of a Me 262 A-1b bomber – and that shown in post #260, above – are of the same machine. I suspect that it is from the 110000 werknummer series but the camouflage scheme and national markings have been significantly modified. I copy below information on another image of the machine that provides more background information:

http://www.planeaday.com/archives/2010_Nov.htm
November 8, 2010 - Messerschmitt Me 262
Per Joe Guzzo: "My father Michael Guzzo served in Europe during WW2, and I have a few pictures of him with a downed ME 262. He was in the 414th Medical Collecting Company and in May of 45 they wound up in Seeshaupt, Germany on Lake Starnberg. In the photo which was taken August 21, 1945 he is on the right of the aircraft with another soldier to the left and boy sitting on the engine. When they set up camp the 262 was there and from what I remember him saying is the townspeople set it up on blocks. He didn't know how or why it was there."

Cheers,

David
