Thank you, Rudi, for the enlargement of this picture. I just noticed the hand applied numbers on the engine nacelle and wonder about their purpose.

The numbers and letters applied to the engine of the Me 262 appear to read: 61st. This may be a note to hand this aircraft off to the 61st Fighter Squadron(?) for ferrying or flight testing(?).

Good eye, Ed! Obviously these were added after capture. I cannot see these on the port nacelle.
