Thanks Bertrand,

One ot two of the other machines have been photographed before, though I must say the photos in the album are nicer than the previous ones i've seen and the Nieuport B3578 of 29 Squadron was new to me, no doubt if I do an internet search that will turn up too.:o

Also I'm wondering if the album is definitely FA (A) 287, note the Fliegerabteilung 102 marking on the car.

Clint

I would say it is extremely difficult to state specifically to where each aircraft seen (or individual) belongs.

However, I tend to go with the album this time. Whenever a unit is mentioned it is FFA 287. Even below the photo of the car with the FFA 102 label, it says so.

No doubt the owner/collector of the album also exchanged pictures with others, which of course creates a dilemma. The Rumpler C.IV is such a case in point. Sold before on the 'net. Likewise the captured remains of the RAF FE.2b 6346, seen from the rear, has been published before (Cross & Cockade FE.2 book). I have not seen the one from the front though!

All in all a quite nice album.
Thanks for catching it Clint :)

Cheers
Stig

Re: German Photo Album

Hi Stig,

I think you're probably correct and I may have been too hasty. Certainly, as you state much of the written data supports FA(A) 287b.

I completely agree with you on the photos. As I mentioned earlier the only ones that were completely unfamiliar were those of the Nieuport. My major concern is that of the German aircraft with identifiable serials, all have I believe been seen before, though the quality is generally pretty reasonable here. I guess the album was assembled at the time, but perhaps using post card photos that were more widely spread now than then.A case in point in the Albatros C.I C.523/15 which I'm fairly certain I've posted here before, logically under the thread for that aircraft and I believe the machine was identified as belonging to Artillerie Fliegerschule Ost, while the Fokker E.IV belong to Wilhelm Frankl while with KEK Vaux.I've enjoyed looking through the album, but in retrospect more new stuff would have been nice.

Oh, and one I could use your assistance with. What is the full serial of the Sopwith on its nose, partial serial B*824 ?

Regards,

Clint

Well Clint

I am pretty certain it must B3824 from No 3 Sq which was shot down 20 Nov 1917
Markings fit, pilot POW which also fit, since the damage is not too great.

Pity there is too much glare when the seller scanned the album

Hello,

Currently on ebay are a collection of 27 photos from a photo album at:

If anyone has a view on what the blurry serial on the Taube shows, I'd be very grateful for a response

Hello,

Currently on ebay are two photo albums:

https://www.ebay.de/itm/284418556192...oAAOSwEQRhIO3s

https://www.ebay.de/itm/284418560233...EAAOSwRw5hIPAY

In so far as the aircraft content is concerned, the second is definitely the much stronger item.

Hello,

Currently on ebay at:

https://www.ebay.de/sch/m.html?item=...ffa+3b&_sop=10

are a large number of photos, many of aircraft from the unit FFA 3b. The photos are being sold individually, but I've opted to post them in this thread as they would appear to all come from the same photo album. If so,a pity that they are not being sold as a single item. But worth viewing nonetheless.

Hello,

Currently on ebay is a photo album captioned as coming from Flieger Abteilung (Artillerie) 207 at:

https://www.ebay.fr/itm/225885859829...8AAOSwArRlX2Jq

While I don't think it compares with the Jasta 12 album a few threads down on this board it may be of interest. The aircraft photos which include a few easily identified entente machines, are at the beginning and end of the slideshow. Many of the German aircraft are either captioned Flieger Abteilung 207 or bear the chevron markings associated with that unit.

Hello,

Currently on delcampe is a German photo album

https://www.delcampe.net/en_GB/colle...848918237.html

A bit unsure about posting this due to the number of aerial shots of the ground, but hopefully the aircraft photos make up for this.

Also Taube A.210/14. Dubious or what?

Regards,

Clint
