Amazing. Frankly, I'd rather see this important aircraft restored in England, than lying rusting on a scrap-heap in India. Legal ramifications aside, of course.

I dont wanna add fuel to the fire.

But how can a German manufactured and flown aircraft, that crashed in England and was then sent on a tour by the British authorities be "Indian Heritage"??? This isnt like ripping out idols from temples or transporting mummified remains for the fertiliser market. This aircraft isnt the Elgin Marbles.

I get a feeling this is a little bit of sellers remorse.

Because the aircraft was a gift in exchange for funding Hyderabad RAF Squadrons. They paid for it, they got it, they kept it for years. Sure, it is their heritage, even if they did not manage to keep it in better conditions, and even if there were only a few Indian pilots in Europe.
You could keep your Messerschmitt in store for all those years as well, could not you?

The marauders and burglars almost got away with it. However, a massive campaign, involving press and contacting authorities, was launched by Serbian enthusiasts. The scum already got some money and could not give it back to their English counterpart and they decided to wait. However by extraordinary stroke of luck and right person on the right place and right time the destiny of Stuka parts was sealed few years ago when it has been officially registered as property of the Museum of Military Aviation.

I'm sorry to disillusion you but the United Nations has just criticised the UK over its restrictions on freedom of expression. One of those issues is "libel tourism", the principle that if someone in the UK saw the book/article etc. (no matter where it was published) then the publisher/author can be sued in the UK courts. British libel laws are heavily repressive.
