Thanks JV and good to hear from you

That shows you how little I know of my photo collection. As for more aerial photos I have not had any luck so far. Evertime I visit my father I go to the basement looking for that lost (big) box of photos but so far nothing. So does the 2nd picture of Kassel have anything to do with the Gerhard Fieseler Werke?

All the best
Scott Blyth

To some degree yes: The Henschel Altenbauna plant (HFA) was making DB aero engines under license in this plant. Some of these engines were transferred to Fieseler II, installed on the Fieseler-built Me-109 and test flown in Waldau.

Marc-Andre you might find this page highly interesting:

Cordially

JV

PS: Scott you wrote before that several boxes of photos were lent by your father to other people and never came back: there may be a lead to follow before it is too late, specially if you consider probably these boxes are just taking dust somewhere.

I should also point out that the site "aerial.rcahms.gov.uk" (formerly evidenceincamera.co.uk) is now operational: the number of available photos for sale is slowly increasing. The maximum quality to be had with download online and not too expensive (10£ +VAT) is 300 dpi: that's not too bad already!

A lot better quality can also be purchased (up to 1000 dpi) but the price borders on ridiculous...and I am only talking about private use license!
I really do not understand the reasoning, here...

I just received this today from my contact in Kassel. It shows Fieseler 3 at the Waldau Air Field during the bombing. This is the same place as Scott's Father's photo taken after the bombs.

Hi there JV,

Many thanks for this exceptionnally well documented link on Henschel's Areo engines plant in Altenbeuna. I discovered a wealth of new informations also on Bf 109 G-6 or -14 "Yellow 5". I never thought this was actually a training machine...

Warm regards
Marc-André

Hello,

This is my first post on this forum. I was searching the internet for links to anything affiliated with Fieseler. I have been in search of documents and photos.

I am particularly interested in finding a photo of Fieseler Werkschutz personnel. The reason being is that I have a very rare Fieseler Werkschutz Guard's Luger , badge and holster. I have been searching for anything related to this piece. I also found a 2 page job or work order written by an employee at the Kassel facility regarding a strut repair on a Fieseler aircraft in 1938.

This Luger has been verified by surviving Fieseler employees in Germany through a Fieseler collector in Michigan, to be legitimate and correct. I believe that it was possibly captured by a GI when U.S. troops captured the Kassel facility.

I have found that Kassel was liberated/captured by the 3rd Army, 12th Army Group with the 317th Infantry Regt. playing a major role. Their Regimental history states that they captured an "Aircraft Factory" shortly before capturing the city of Kassel.

Thanks...

That Lugar is VERY RARE. I have learned so much about Fieseler, his air plane factories, and how he treated the workers more like family than workers. Even the forced labor workers were treated well.

Is your contact in Michigan a guy named Oscar? If so, between him and a guy in Kassel named Werner, most likely know more about Fieseler than anyone, or any group. Oscar even has a Storch that was built in Kassel.

Hi,

Yes, Oscar is the collector that I am referring to. Are you the one who sent me the PM from the Luger forum asking me about photos?

Yeah, it is. I was just searching for Fieseler Werkschutz links that may produce some photos of the Security Guards at the Fieseler factory, and happened across this forum. Google brought up your thread title, so figured I'd take a look.
