I will be interested in Stein's reply on this as well.

In the book "Mustang" (published in Australia ISBN 1 875671 51 X) Stewart Wilson has a photo which is captioned as showing Haslope's a/c. The ORB shows that this a/c was KH557/SK*Z no serial or code letters are visible in the photo but it may be that in the original it is possible to identify the pilot's face. This photo shows an aircraft wearing the standard white type identity markings on the nose and spinner.

No photos, just what Rønhoff mentioned during my phone interview.I was mainly interested in the 19 Sqn Mustang IV colours and markings at the time he served on the Sqn from mid-April-45,such as if there were camouflaged IV's or not.It was in this context that he mentioned the various colour combinations of the squadrons at Peterhead.
I see in my "RAF Sqns" books that 165 was not at Peterhead during this time, but at Bentwaters.65 was at Peterhead so I think this must have been the squadron and that Ronnie has got it mixed up a bit. There are photos in "Mustang at War" but they only show natural metal spinners. But these photos may have been taken before the stripes were added.
