There were reports of Luftwaffe pilot veterans serving with the Royal Egyptian Force during the Arab-Israeli war in 1948.

Gentlemen,do you have any names of German Luftwaffe pilot veterans that flew and fought for the Egyptian Air Force? They would have flown Spitfire fighter planes or Gloster Meteor jet fighters.

I think you are adding a little bit of confusion, putting various subjects into one topic.
Anyway, there was no need for flying personnel in Allied air forces, as they had just enough of their own. Exception were exile airmen from Czechslovakia, Poland or Yugoslavia, who mostly served in the RAF. Nonetheless emerging air forces of so called third world could employ them. Still, I have not heard of any Germans in REAF. |
