Ah, mistook the notes. Still a kill, is not it?

Hmm...I'm inclined not to count that as a kill.

Ukraine AF claimed a Russian Su-35 last week. The aircraft was indeed shot down, and it is quite possible that the aircraft was shot down by F-16 launched AMRAAM. UAF has not specified the weapon, more details here: https://www.twz.com/air/claims-swirl...nker-shootdown

If the claim is true, we have 44 years between the first and last F-16 kill.

Also, there are claims that Israelis shot down around 10 Iranian aircraft during the Rising Lion operation. If that's true, most likely claimants are F-35s and F-15s, but it is possible that F-16 recorded a kill in this conflict, too.

Good evening Goran,

did the Ukrainians issue a list of their victorious pilots and their aircraft ?

Cheers,

Michael

Highly unlikely I would say. What if they are shot down or captured?

Worse, assassinated, they or their families.

The Russians have issued data about the successful fighter pilots, e.g. Ilya Sizov.

Looks like Ukraine F-16 finally managed to score a kill.
On 8.7. Russian Su-35 was shot down, Ukrainians didn't comment much and Russian unofficial sources confirmed the loss (pilot apparently ejected). Most commentators suspected a SAM trap, which was successful on few occasions, but US general Caine apparently confirmed air to air kill 2 days ago.

As Ukraine uses AM model (modernized original A version), the aircraft was produced around the same time as Israeli F-16s that claimed the first kills 45 years ago.

Good evening Goran,

very interesting. Any chance to learn to know the name of the successful Ukrainian F-16 pilot?

Cheers,
Michael
