Re: eBay: Allied intrest
1265 #1 = Blenheim L4864 'PZ-W' of 53 Squadron 16 May 1940.
1265 #2 = Hurricane L1932 "QO-P" of 3 Squadron.14-5-1940 (F/O Frank Carey) - It has been reported that Carey was in QO-T - So would be interested in the serial and who was the pilot of this https://www.asisbiz.com/il2/Hurrican...e-1940-01.html |

yes, probably L1932 - there is photo from the right side, serial number is visible and last digit is 2 or 7 (L1937?): http://www.modelari.org/viewtopic.php?f=40&t=2646 There is photo of L1937, and camo scheme looks different: https://www.asisbiz.com/il2/Hurrican...ce-1940-01.jpg So probably L1932. L1937 was destroyed 10 Oct 1939 6km south of Dorking, Surrey and I doubt it ever landed on any French soil. Photo must be a line up before the war, most likely on the units homebase in 1939. Also the code OP was the units pre-war code. When it went to France in May 1940 it certainly used QO Cheers Stig |

use just for check the camo scheme - it is different, so the crash landed plane from France 1940 is probably L1932. And thanks for the info about plane L1937 - it is missing in my archive and you save my time :-) Faenor |
