How can you tell this is No 401? All I can ID is the digits 88, but there were more Y-x88 No 301 Y-788 No 201 Y-688 (unlikely since it was used by the Luftwaffe) No 101 Y-588 Cheers Stig |
Re: eBay: Allied intrest
Hi Stig,
With engine 14N49 we remove 101 lost with GC III/10 201 known up to 1943 301 was with four blades and known at Tours (check Avions HS 7 pages 39 and 41) on wheels and not wrecked 99% it is n°401 bertrand |
Re: eBay: Allied intrest
Thanks
Seems more is known now than when I bought the LELA Presse book. Perhaps this is included in the new book by Ricco? Cheers Stig |

Post 3576.
Spitfire Vc WD-D 4FS / 52FG; may be MH605 "Ocean Rider", late 43 on Sicily and Corsica. Typical mixed US - RAF insignia, the tail flash often remained. Sorry "Ocean Rider" was the ship which delivered her to Casablanca arriving 10 Oct. 43 (total 65 Spits.) one of 60 "Ocean " class this one built in Maine; assigned to the Ministry of War Transport. Definitely WD-D. Nick |
