Snautzer, thank you for the links!
#4 looks more like a Do217 and behind a Me410. |

Re: eBAy: Captured german planes
Thanks Rudi as ever,
Post 1356: 1-2 and 4 at Altenburg. Interestingly, 4 does show a burnt out Ju 388, as evidenced by the cockpit structure and the four-bladed propellers. Here some more for Altenburg: https://www.ebay.com/itm/WWII-US-GI-...RPzt:rk:1:pf:0 https://www.ebay.com/itm/WWII-US-GI-...RPyw:rk:2:pf:0 https://www.ebay.com/itm/WWII-US-GI-...RPxr:rk:3:pf:0 The last one does show some off the wrecked Fw 190's found in the Altenburger Forst, next to the airfield. Number 3 is one of the Ju 88 G-6's from Langensalza, not Langenzenn like spelled on the auction site. Here one more for Langensalza: https://www.ebay.com/itm/WWII-US-GI-...RPs-:rk:8:pf:0 Cheers Marc |

Re: eBAy: Captured german planes
The code LU-SX on a glider? This seems very unusual.
|
Re: eBAy: Captured german planes
Not at all. Most gliders had Stkz. with the first letter L, several in the LU+ range.

Re: eBAy: Captured german planes
Interesting find, Snautzer. This seems to be one Fw 190 V-Muster plane and also a Ju 86 R (?) - two rare birds. Have to look these up later!
|
Re: eBAy: Captured german planes
Fw 190 A-0 W.Nr. 37 "CF+OV", E-Stelle Rechlin, May 1942; AVA Göttingen from November 1943 up to April 1945. Source: Stammkennzeichen.de.

Re: eBAy: Captured german planes
Thanks Marc! :)
This was an aircraft used for tests with DB 603 engine - and it looks like it was still equipped with it when these photos were taken (at least it doesn't have the standard engine mounting of the Jumo 213). Deboeck/Larger/Poruba state this plane was captured on 18 April 1945 in Göttingen. So we have a location also.. |
