Larry: Slightly off topic, but as a matter of interest, Wolfgang Falck's Aircraft was also damaged in combat with British fighters over Dunkirk on 26.5.40. "40 hits" as stated in one source. Similairly, this incident doesn't show up in the known loss tables. Perhaps not a high enough % damage to warrant mention? I recall that Peter Cornwell had been unable to verify the damage to this A/C as well. Disregard if you have already investigated this. Dean.

Hi Larry.

Yes, I noticed Junker mentioning tree aircraft, but was not able to find a walid argument for it until later last night where i found out that the numbering of aircraft also was there to identify the different pilots (ranks). Although I'm not familiar with the coding/pilots position in the squadron, and that the fact that Falck used another code on his aircraft, I was not convinced.

I went to bed thinking that Falck would have mentioned in his memories if a crew member of his fellow plane that landed near Skejby would have been wounded. So I got the feeling that Junkers info. regarding tree planes hit by ground fire was correct.

Btw. I found this on the following Web site: http://www.rafandluftwaffe.info/luftwaffe2.html

Sorry, have to ad an Excel sheet.

Could that be of any help, or is it just well known info.?

Regards

Orla

Orla,

Would you contact me by PM with your personal email address. We can deal with the Madsen guns directly, since, as you say, it's off topic.
