Knowing my, should we say, limitations regarding German two-seaters I called upon
the help of Kees Kort whose knowledge about such things far outstrip my own feeble
trials and mostly errors anyway.... :)
The so called Friedrichshafen FF.6 is particularly interesting, since Jack Herris is the only
author suggesting it ever existed! No German historian has anything to say about any FF.6
Checking his files Kees has come to the conclusion these photos are of an Albatros pre-war
two-seater that Albatros themselves called Militär-Doppeldecker. The Bestellnummer
was rather B.203/13 than /14

The identity of what is listed as Albatros-Breguet B.50/12 is possibly the aircraft bought by
Albatros in 1912 directly from Breguet. It should be noted that Albatros did not acquire a
license from Breguet until 1913 and it is unknown if they actually built any.
Photos published just may be the original (Renault engine) later rebuilt with an Argus one.

The Aviatik is quite correctly that and was dubbed Aviatik Schuldoppeldecker at the time.

Re: Photos German Aircraft

Hi Stig,

You want to see limitations, check out some of my earlier problems with Albatros D types.

But thanks for your efforts in getting input from Kees. As the saying has it when the evidence changes,my opinion changes. So my spreadsheets have been amended accordingly. An interesting point about only Herris. This highlights I think the need to show sources. Unfortunately all we can see from the Aeronaut book is that the photo is from the Peter M Bowers collection.

I now Completly concur having ironically enough, checked Aeronauts Albatros vol.1 that the machine B.203 is the Militär-Doppeldecker.

Clint

When it comes to aircraft pre 1920 Kees is simply a Rock with his vast knowledge.

I am very happy (and honored) to get his help!

Clint

The Aviatik B.1327/15 is already out there somewhere on the 'net.
When downloading it I wrote down it was stated as being with FEA 10 and the
accident was at Böblingen in 1915

Thanks Stig, I did have that too,but was thrown by the fuselage bands. On the upside, this caused me to undertake a search and I found this site, which I hadn't seen before and it has a better quality image of B.1327/15 and much else as well
