Jim and Larry, the magnet link is not a webpage, it is a file location. It doesn't work in a browser.
To get the files at that "magnet location", you need to have a program like uTorrent installed on your computer. If/when you do, open it, click file, then Add Torrent from URL, paste the magnet link into the space and click OK. The files will start downloading.
BUT BEWARE - these downloads aren't small. The first link provided is around 34Gb, the second about 17Gb. It could take many hours, And if your internet account has limitations on how much you can download, you may incur additional costs if you exceed that limit.
Once downloaded, you can go to the folder to which the files were downloaded and open them. If you don't know where that is, in uTorrent click Options, then Preferences, and then Directories and the answer will be there.

Perhaps a silly question but what is the second link? I used the (edited) first magnetlink and it worked well. I haven't seen another link ?

Wow. Sigh. This is all too complicated and time-consuming for someone from my generation. I think I'll just wait until 12452 appears on the regular Fond 500 website. Besides, my ISP would have me arrested if a 173,894 TB file came through addressed to me. :eek:

1st link post 107, 2nd link post 115. I only tried the second one. I noticed differences in the 2 links, so I figured they were for different files. Does the second in fact lead to the same data as the first?

Must agree with Larry on this one, I've never seen anything so complicated and time consuming. Yes I know potentionally this could be the most exiting archive
so far unearthed but my poor machine is really groaning!

It's not complicated, but it takes about 20 hours to download. But the alternative is to wait and then download one pages at a time. It will take you month/years to do so.

You can download not a whole set but some Akten from it. It is possible and it is simple - before start the downloading to mark the necessary Akten only.

First post... Believe it or not, I did not know about this forum until I was pointed to it by a friend. Shame on me.


A big thanks to Andy in preparing the inventory of 12452, because I was doing exactaly the same on my side. This will stop some double work.


If anyone is interested, I can share a significant part of this collection, as well as others. The torrent mentioned above is also extremely convenient even if it probably lacks the large size items. Such was the case for the 12451 torrent put online a couple of years ago (the existence of which led the GDIR team to add this ugly watermark on all their files...).
