The fuselage number 66 may indicate that it's from 3./NAGr. 1. That unit used numbers in that range: they lost a 62, 64, 65 and 69 during 1945. Also another 66, W.Nr. 230784 was 20% damaged while taxying at Twente on 3 February 1945. |

Post #4194, last photo - This is another view of one of the distinctive Fw 190 G-8s and F-8s that I have documented with truncated Balkenkreuze. This one features a truncated white/black Balkenkreuz and a black-outline Hakenkreuz. Like most others so far, it carries single ETC503 underwing wing racks, but lacks exhaust flame dampers. Interestingly, several of the others I’ve documented feature distinctive, small, single-digit markings. Finally, I am uncertain of the location of this aircraft. If anyone has additional photos of these Fw 190s with truncated Balkenkreuz, I would appreciate seeing them. Respectfully, Steve Sheflin |
