I have just received my copy and I want to add my congratulations to Peter for a magnificent work. As others have said, worth the price. As usual, from After The Battle, beautifully produced.

Aside from the daily diary, full of wonderfully coordinated claims and losses, the various indexes of planes, pilots, etc, are incredible. A lot of work went into those. Also, the narratives, especially the “phony war” section from the adjutant of 73 Squadron is most entertaining and gives a great flavor of the time. Lord, how innocent they were!

My only gripe is that the fond seems to be getting smaller, or, perhaps it is my aging eyes! I guess a larger font would have added several hundred pages.

All in all, very well done and, in my humble opinion, destined to be the “bible” of this period for some time to come.

Tie-yay-yippee-yippee-yay!!! I am more than happy to read the comment on the small font as most aviation books are printed on too large font. In this respect After the Battle books that I have seen have been very exmplary: no wasted space combined with very readable three-column layout.

Many thanks John & Jukka for those comments, I hope you both continue to enjoy the book for some time to come. Yes, it was a lot of work but it needed doing & I enjoyed excellent support throughout. Can I also take this opportunity to add my thanks to all those who have contacted me privately with their comments. The level of interest generated is a real surprise & general acceptance of the book is most gratifying.

I finally read through the book, and congratulations on its production.

However I did feel disappointed in a couple of respects, mainly compared to the Battle of Britain books there is very little to nothing in it with regards to excavations of Battle Of France crashes, while I think probably not as many have been done as say Battle of Britain crashes, there have been some noteable ones eg Klipsch's Spitfire for Time Team, some websites have some information on others could more not have been done I feel it is lacking in this area ?

I borrowed a friends copy to see how it was and I just generally felt I didnt want to buy one although I probably will !!!
