The D-9 could be - based on the camouflage pattern - from the Focke-Wulf production line but it is the first time I see a Dora with a solid black fuselage cross! |

Regarding the D-9, we have both W.Nr. 210231 and 601058 listed as "ausgeschlachtet" in the relevant A.I.2(g) report dated 14 April 1945. Five other burnt out D-9's are accounted for without W.Nr. Cheers Marc |
Re: Captured German planes, not from eBay
There is a A.I.2 report on Erfurt-Bindersleben? Thanks Marc, I did not know this! :) Is the Fw 190 A in my photo also mentioned?

Re: Captured German planes, not from eBay
Hallo!
That unknown biplane could be Ar 66 from 3./NSGr 11 (Estonians), but that is mere a guess. Cheers, Kari |

The Heinkel looks as if it's W.Nr. 8037 (or possibly 8057) — see attached image detail.

Re: Captured German planes, not from eBay
It's indeed 8037. This is He 111 H-16 S3+EM which was captured in Mönchengladbach (which was called München-Gladbach back then). A plane which has been photographed very often but this is the first time I see its Werknummer. Now that this is known, the Stammkennzeichen SM+KD can be decyphered on its wing undersides (it was partly overpainted). Thanks Marc and Nick!

Dear Gang,
Though known since a long time, here again a few photos made by R. H. Dibnah during his service time, most probably in Germany, Spring 1945. First, the known locations: Fw 190 A-8 W.Nr. 350210 "Weisse 5", II./JG 54, found at Lüneburg, April 1945: https://www.flickr.com/photos/230571...7610334641015/ Bf 109 K-4 W.Nr. 332700 (the one-winged) and W.Nr. 330255 "Schwarzer Winkel, Stab III./JG 27, both found at Wunstorf, 8 April 1945: https://www.flickr.com/photos/230571...7610334641015/ Si 204 D, Wunstorf, 8 April 1945: https://www.flickr.com/photos/230571...7610334641015/ Ju 87 D "??+J?" and Ju 88, Wunstorf, after 19 April 1945: https://www.flickr.com/photos/230571...7610334641015/ Now for the location unknown ones: Fw 190 and Fw 200 : https://www.flickr.com/photos/230571...7610334641015/ https://www.flickr.com/photos/230571...7610334641015/ Ar 234 half destroyed and put up as a decoy: https://www.flickr.com/photos/230571...7610334641015/ Bf 109 K-4 W.Nr. unknown "Weisse 24", 1./JG 27: https://www.flickr.com/photos/230571...7610334641015/ Any ideas ? Cheers Marc |

Thanks for those, Christian. Unusual camouflage on the wings of that Fw 190 "12 – +".

Re: Captured German planes, not from eBay
Nick,
Possibly replacement wings from another Fw 190? As I recall, when spare parts were no longer available, parts from other nearby aircraft that were no longer serviceable were used. |

Thank you for this find. Note how close to the canopy the black cross is painted. This is the famous (?) Bf 109 F-4 having a Red (?) 19 painted behind the cross, a white band around the fuselage and a large Swastika re-painted on rudder. I have no other informations. Regards, Franck. |
