Is there somewhere on the 'net where I can find the correlation between Czeck codes and their units? In this case I looked inside the JAKAB book about the Avia BH-33 but no such luck.... Cheers Stig |

Re: eBay: Allied intrest
Could # 1 be Battle L5440, reportedly abandoned at Berry-au-Bac in May 1940?
I have never seen this code/serial combination confirmed though. |

It sure looks like the same QT-H previously stated to be L5440, but, as you say, unconfirmed.... Cheers Stig |

Re: eBay: Allied intrest
I had this picture (there are more and similar shots) labelled as Reims-Champagne. Buildings also look like that airfield.
But not 100% sure, so might also be Amiens. Cheers, Pieter |

Re: eBay: Allied intrest
Thanks Ed.
Another amusing caption. 21 Sqn Blenheim methinks... There are quite a few candidates for that one. Previous photos show YH-K, YH-L, YH-R abandoned in Greece/Crete for which I have never confirmed serials. |
Re: eBay: Allied intrest
Post 2033 first picture is of a 156 Sqdn Lancaster.

Re: eBay: Allied intrest
I think I have a likely candidate for the P-51C of the 99th Sq., 332 FG shown in #1995. Lt. Roger Gaither., 99 FS, POW November 19,1944. This supposition is based on two hypothesis (1) The seller is the same as the one with the P-38J of the 14th FG, which definitively crashed in Hungary (2) Lt. Roger Gaither was the only one 99th FS pilot who was taken POW in Hungary, right around the same period.(3) the pictures of the crashed P-51 show two people in Luftwaffe uniform and one other person who is in another uniform, possible Hungarian.
