Re: eBAy: Captured german planes
Thanks Marc-Andre always nice to know more about some finds. I find towing a 262 for some distance a bit suspect but there you go.

All photos were made at Köthen, after 13 April 1945. One can recognise among the 109's two photos of Erla built Bf 109 G-10 W.Nr. unknown "Weisse ?"of 4./NJG 11, a characteristic machine with its radar aerials sticking out under its nose and its right wing undersurface painted black. Another photo of this machine can be found here: https://www.flickr.com/photos/280920...7631640596756/ Another landmark was Fw 190 S-8 W.Nr. 680430 "Weisse 30" of 1./JG 110. Another photo of this machine can be found here: http://www.soldiersmuseum.com/pages/...armored-56.htm The last plane to pinpoint the location is the Ju 86. Other photos of this machine can be found here: http://www.soldiersmuseum.com/pages/...armored-58.htm http://www.soldiersmuseum.com/pages/...armored-65.htm Thanks for those finds, RudiS! |

Hey Rudi,
those pictures with the blown-up He 177 show the E-Stelle Tarnewitz, near Lübeck. The seller also offers a photo of an interestingly painted ex-soviet KV-tank at the same location. Nice find! |

Location is Tarnewitz, as ascertained by another photo published by Hideki Noro in "LO+ST", 2009, p. 18, showing the wrecked He 177 and the gaggle of Fw 190 F-8's, among them "GM+DR" which was assigned to E-Stelle Tarnewitz in March 1945 (source stammkennzeichen.de) Cheers Marc |
