(Funny, I was sure I did answer this morning ???) #2283 Dénes, Rwcmilitaria is the buyer of former auction and now he is selling it with a new scan since that's the way he does/works.... (He is not the only one, though) And the link was: https://www.ebay.com/itm/Org-Photo-C...QAAOSwsrFdglwH |

Gentlemen, some new finds from a russian source: Prenzlau airfield this time.
There are several shots spread over different threads over on modelforum.cz, for example here: https://www.modelforum.cz/viewtopic....1020&start=915 or here: https://www.modelforum.cz/viewtopic....4253&start=120 I have attached one particular nice photo. Now, they all seem to originate from this russian site: https://pamyat-naroda.ru/, but unfortunately no specific link is given on modelforum.cz. Can anyone speaking/reading Russian help locate the original source? |
Re: eBAy: Captured german planes
Hi Christian, original source is here https://vk.com/albums-140181428
Have a nice day. Spektor. |

unfortunately I can't help further, as i rely on the same source... Just a quick side note: those are non-eBay finds and, if i remember well, there is a dedicated thread for those as well in this forum. Cheers Marc |
Re: eBAy: Captured german planes
Hi Post 2293 & 2294
Does anybody know the location of the Focke-Wulf repair facility where this Russian photo was taken at. Thanks |

Hi Tom. The caption says Prenzlau, which is an airfield about 100 km northeast of Berlin. I don't think is a dedicated repair facility, though. Just a typical airfield maintenance hangar.
Spektor, thanks a lot! There is quite a lot of amazing material there (even though, 11.000 scans on just a single site take some time to load :D). I have since found two more interesting shots which did not appear on modelforum.cz. These should be IV./JG 3 Fw 190s, no? And sorry Marc, you are right with this being a dedicated ebay thread - I forgot, but I think this one time it will be okay ;) |
Re: eBAy: Captured german planes
In post 2292, can anyone identify the plane in the first or second pictures? Different planes are the markings are in white vs black, but I'm very curious what the second pic is of.

Re: eBAy: Captured german planes
ErikTF,
It is undoubtedly a Bf 110 G-4, "3C+QY". This, to my knowledge, should indicate 14./NJG 4, except there never was a V./NJG 4... Cheers Marc |

Re: eBAy: Captured german planes
Hem ...
Not necessarily a "captured" machine if a Morane Saulnier MS 500. |
Re: eBAy: Captured german planes
But is it Franck ?
|
Re: eBAy: Captured german planes
Very likely a post liberation built MS 500
The ones which the Germans left behind (at the factory) were checked and given new construction numbers by Morane in the 2000 range. The photo seems to be from Indo China and I doubt very much a single captured Fi 156 ever was sent there. Cheers Stig |
Re: eBAy: Captured german planes
I agree with Stig, I believe the photo has been taken in Indochina.
Regards, Franck. |
Re: eBAy: Captured german planes
Nah mais Merci Rudi, it's a beautiful picture, don't worry ;)

Thanks for the info, spektor. Very much appreciated.
And Franck, don't worry about getting older. It's when you're no longer getting older you should worry!!! https://grm4ng.dm.files.1drv.com/y4m...&cropmode=none https://www.ebay.com/itm/German-Mess...4AAOSwBrRdix3v |

Re: eBAy: Captured german planes
Post 2311:
A WNF built Bf 109 G-10/R2, as indicated by it's W.Nr. 770285 (?), the last digit being an educated guess. The location given - Tutting - is actually a village close to Fliegerhorst Pocking, in Bavaria. Thanks Snautzer ! Marc |
Re: eBAy: Captured german planes
Post 2311
No , Bf 109 G-14 Regensburg 7828?? Eduardo. |
Re: eBAy: Captured german planes
Eduardo,
Marc is correct. I almost made the same error. Note the solitary digit "7" on its wooden fin. Respectfully, Steve Sheflin |
Re: eBAy: Captured german planes
Sorry, I did not see that “7” .
