Hello Marc,
These two pictures: http://www.ebay.de/itm/KLASSE-FOTO-K...item338f15f361 http://www.ebay.de/itm/KLASSE-FOTO-K...item338f15fe8b You have to compare with the following one in your collection, better: https://www.flickr.com/photos/28092068@N03/9509224102 or that one (with different location !!!) https://www.flickr.com/photos/28092068@N03/8642185089 Cheers, Franck. |
Re: Late war Bf 109 pictures source
Last,
on picture's back it's writen Sachau, 5-44 ... Which is ANOTHER place!!!! Than Rottenburg, Bad Wörishofen or I don't know what else. And 5./JG 3, indeed. Regards, Franck. |
Re: Late war Bf 109 pictures source
Hi there Franck,
www.flickr.com/photos/28092068@N03/14223935045/ Given what Jochen Prien states for this group of merry pilots portrayed, they are 6./JG 3, depicted in May 1944 at Bad Wörishofen. Cheers Marc |
Re: Late war Bf 109 pictures source
Yep Marc,
I understand ... BUT! :) 1/ Rotenburg - (Mombeeck) for II./JG 3 is a good solution but obviously the photo doesn't seems to be taken in February. 2/ Bad Wörishofen? II./JG 3 wasn't in Bad Wörishofen in May; III./JG 3 was. 3/ Sachau: II./JG 3 was based at Gardelegen from 1/3/1944 to 7/6/1944 (all Group) ... with a detachment at Sachau, 27.4.44 - 7.6.44 Regards, Franck. |

Hi there Gang,
I chanced on two interesting pics on photo-war.com which are in dire need of full captions: www.flickr.com/photos/28092068@N03/14857550697/ IMHO, this is an Erla built Bf 109 G-14 W.Nr. 46. ... "Gelbe 4", 3./JG 52 (?), location unknown, Germany, Summer 1945. Source: www.photo-war.com. Any idea about the location and unit? www.flickr.com/photos/28092068@N03/15050584765/ IMHO, an Erla built Bf 109 G-14 W.Nr. 46. ... "Schwarze ?", 2./JG 5, location unknown, Northern Norway, Spring 1945. Source: www.photo-war.com, ID 4785. Any specific loss data? Thanks in advance, folks! Marc |
