Hi,

In december 2007, there was a photo of QV-K (right side) belly-landed on a beach. I think that this print and yours are did at the same place. Sand dunes in the background are very similar. Any details of serial and date.

Re: Which stories behind these photos?

The Blenheim Mk IV coded SR-X is from 101 Sqn which used the type from April 1939 to May 1941 in NW Europe before equipping with Wellingtons.

33 Sqn flew Hurricanes and Spits for most of the war in Middle East and NW Europe - but did use 5R from 1944.

Can anyone read the Blenheim serial number L...

Regarding Hampden P4344 this was from 61 Sqn. It was hit by flak and crashed near Jever airfield on 20/21 July 1940. The crew PO K Jones, Sgt Wright, Sgt DD Cain and Sgt R Bonson were all POW.

Their mission was minelaying Wilhemshaven.

Hi
Just an update, the B-25 photo link I posted could have been a captured example, apparently in the left corner is the tail of a ME-321 or ME-323.
The seller got a good price on e bay, which I think tends to indicate it.
Cheers

Re: Which stories behind these photos?

Blenheim R3662 of 18 Sqn was reported as missing on night of 6th July 1940 after carrying out night intruder sorties over France. The crew were all POW. So now we know it landed rather than crashed. Great photo too.
