Hi,

I take 'The bomber command war diaries' by Middlebrook/Everitt and multi-volume 'RAF bomber command losses' by W.R.Chorley and see, that losses are different (Chorley gives a higher numbers).
So I have a single question, why are many differences between the sources about British losses???

If seriously, maybe because some authors takes the data from monthly/yearly reports, reports about operations etc (and repeats the errors of these war-time reports), some authors takes the loss-by-loss, day-by-day data from primary sources, and many authors thoughtless compiles theirs books from 2-3 other books.

Hi,
I took about three years completing the claims on internet about Germans and others and in each web appears something new and different similar as you say of the books...
