Thanks to Maciej for the improved photo and many thanks Huib for the detective work.I think we can definitely say that you've correctly identified the aircraft. Ironically enough,I actually live in Leicestershire:) So not OE-FKD. What did happen to rhat machine it seems to have simply disappeared as far as any evidence of its existence post Anschluss is concerned.

Huib is quite correct

Malcolm just returned my e-mail and says it is that very aircraft.
BTW the log that Huib use is made by Malcolm Fillmore for account of Air Britain.

I've seen the photo of OE-FKD on a snowy runway. Is it known whether this was taken in Austria or rather the UK prior to delivery? The reason I ask, is given that there seems to be relatively little evidence for its post March 1938 existence,was it definitely delivered to Austria rather than say diverted to Spain? Do photos exist of the machine wearing the Austrian triangles?

From experience I prefer to no longer quote "Gospels" but I think the well known photo you refer to was
taken in Austria prob during the winter 1935-36.
Reason for that is that there is another photo of the aircraft in Reisinger's 'Die verbotene Luftwaffe 1918-38'
This photo taken just before the delivery flight 20 July 1935 shows the aircraft only wearing OE-FKD, no tail strip,
no DNr 64.
He also states it was handed over to Aufklärungsstaffel 2 and that the final markings was painted on the aircraft
after delivery.
He also states it was taken over by the Luftwaffe in 1938.
There is also another not so well known photo of OE-FKD taken at Aspern in one of Fred Haubner's books.

So I am fairly confident it went to Austria and later to Luftwaffe.
If the latter actually had any interest in the aircraft, no idea.....

I was looking through the Haubner books again and found what I think is a clue as to the fate of the Austrian DH.84

He lists various so called Flugzeugstand
5 Dec 1936: no DH.84 (Aufkl St 2 is not included, perhaps not yet formed?)
15 June 1937: DNr 64 with Aufkl St 2
25 March 1938: DNr 64 with Stabsstaffel
18 May 1938: DNr 64 now listed with the Zeugamt in Erding, Bavaria (Verwendung für Ersatzteile)
The latter I interpret as it is now only to be used for spare parts.

I know nothing about the Zeugamt in Erding, but it does not sound like a unit which repaired and returned aircraft
into service, but rather like a unit which more or less scrapped aircraft and took care of useful parts.
Our unit experts can no doubt shed some light on that

Speculating a bit, the aircraft may have been damaged during Anschluss or shortly after and deemed
"useless" by the Germans (aka Luftwaffe).

Feels unlikely we will find a photo of it in Luftwaffe service after all.

Tricky this one Clint

The Germans captured quite a few Marinens Flyfabrikk (Höver) MF.11 during the invasion of Norway.
Even more tricky it becomes because four additional aircraft were also under construction in April 1940. The Germans ensured these four were finished by the Norwegians in 1941 and delivered to various Fliegerhorst See along the Norwegian coast.

If those aircraft which were captured were actually overhauled and put in use as well, I don't know.

Hopefully Seaplanes (Björn) will check this and come back to us if he has any further details to add.
In his book I cannot see he has identified any aircraft to a specific German STKZ.

With regard to units, I think the MF.11s belonged to the actual Fliegerhorst See stations and not anything else.
