Re: eBAy: Captured german planes
Hello Snautzer,
First, let me again thank you for all the work you put into finding these photos. Regarding: JU88 Schrage Music ??+PP http://www.ebay.com/itm/Org-Photo-US...UAAOSwhMFZqhk4, I believe that it is a new view of night fighter Ju 88 G-6 (622126) coded 4R+PP (markings in gray), late of 6./II./ NJG2. My notes indicate that was found crashed in a farmer’s field near Fl.Horst Illesheim. The only slight hesitation I have with my identification is because I have photos of it where it is turned upside down. However, because I see the same trees in the background of several of my photos, I think that this is just the result of the passage of time. Respectfully, Steve Sheflin |
Re: eBAy: Captured german planes
I dunno Steve. The rudder looks pretty good for a plane that's been upside down.
Cheers Peter |
Re: eBAy: Captured german planes
I have saved pic of other side, same wreck - still upright, photo marked 4R+PP 622126
from BattleGroundWrecks.com but I do remember another set of photos of plane +PP but yet to find that again. |

Re: eBAy: Captured german planes
Hello Peter,
I didn’t elucidate well. I believe it was upright to begin with then later flipped over. As always, I don’t want to sound dogmatic about any of this. Respectfully, Steve Sheflin |
Re: eBAy: Captured german planes
Hey, that's OK. No problem Steve.
I thought that may have been possible, but it just seemed odd to me that it would have been upright and then flipped over, rather that the other way round. Cheers Peter |

Re: eBAy: Captured german planes
Hi Rudi,
It looks like a reversed image of a "Yellow 3" of JG 7. It cannot be W.Nr. 501221 because that aircraft lost its nose in the crash landing. best regards, Jim |

Re: eBAy: Captured german planes
Hi D.B, you're right: the cold start hatch position and the seven line writing on the cowling are the give away that this is in fact a G-14/AS. And to my knowledge, we still don't know the content of those seven lines...

Re: eBAy: Captured german planes
I do believe the Me 262 is Yellow 13 which was profiled in Wings of the Black Cross Number 5. There is also an additional photograph within.

Hello Rudi,
Post #307: I can’t prove it, but I think the middle photo is of snow-covered Weserflug-Lemwerder-built Ju 87 D-3 (WNr. 412211) marked 8M+EH and abandoned at Leithorst Fritzlar. Respectfully, Steve Sheflin |
Re: eBAy: Captured german planes
Thanks for your insight, Steve. I was wondering where the heck this shot could have been taken.
And thanks to you, RudiS, to have caught it up. Sincerely Marc |
