I believe you are right.
No 48 was a former GR II/22 aircraft and it seems the type was to be replaced by the Potez 63.11

A number were used by various Ecole de Tir at various airfields (I have both Cazeaux and Istres for example)

Some aircraft had red stripes, some white and others both red and white.

Hi,

Read Bloch 131 n°48 : GR 1/22, 2ème escadrille not GR II/22 ; n°48 left GR 1/22 on 19 décember 1939. Potez 63-11 arrived in September 1939 for GR 1/22 or I/22 (various writings)

Re: eBay: Allied intrest

Thanks Bertrand

I believe Avions said II/22, but I have now left my files at home, and nothing for I/22

Did II/22 operate the Bloch 131 at all? As far as I remember there were a whole range of aircraft listed with that unit. Are we perhaps talking about a printing error here??

Cheers

Hi,

#285 first link with Battle of n°12 squadron

This PH-A must be the L5538 given lost on 19 may 1940 close to Rethel following a fight. J-L Roba shows the same a/c with another angle page 56 of the good issue of Batailles Aériennes N° 67 "La RAF en France en 1939-1940 1re partie : Battle dans la tourmente Mai-juin 1940."

Re: eBay: Allied intrest

The location of Bapaum is interesting

Could this be the aircraft of Pilot Officer Michael Robert Mudie #42073 of 615 May 15 1940 ?

Mudie made a forced-landing at Bapaume at this date after an engagement with Do17s

Not impossible Paul

The only date I have seen together with a photo of the aircraft is 25 May. which I assumed was the date when the photo was taken.

Cheers

Re: eBay: Allied intrest

Hi all,

I have another 2 photo of same Gladiator, but serial number is not visible. If you are interesting, please send me INFO or e-mail and I can share with everybody, who is interesting.

Another option is, that this is one from machines destroyed on the ground 18.5.1940, but from my perspective this one looks very fine for this type of destroying - I have more photos on Gladiators, which looks destroyed on the ground (but I have them without place, so another possibility is, that these Gladiators are Belgian).

Thanks borborygm

If you see Bernard photo then there looks like some sort of combat damaged Under Gladiator cockpit

Can anyone confirm Mudie flying Gladiator on the date of his force landing at Bapaume
