Here we are again with a fine shot of a WNF built Bf 109 G-6 W.Nr. 20xxx "Weisse 66".
http://www.ebay.de/itm/Foto-Messersc...item488014007a

The seller's caption says JG 3, Bernburg, no date given. Could it be an Erg.JG Süd machine, sometimes in the Summer of 1944 ?

Thanks for your insights

What is the full text on that radiator flap?

PS. Thank you for your great Flickr account, incredibly informative and helpful. Will it always be exclusively for 109's?

You're most welcome, Jasate. And unfortunately, no idea of the full text in this radiator flap...

And an exceptionally clear Bf 109 K-4 shot, again thanks to Franck Benoîton:

And now an Erla nut to crack:

Thanks to Randy Malmostroem, over on Facebook, here are two pics showing an unfinished Erla Bf 109 G-14 airframe whith its factory W.Nr. 50 278 painted in the centre of the Balkenkreuz:

Could the location be Leipzig Mockau ?
What would be the RLM W.Nr. for Erla factory W.Nr. 50 278 ?

Thanks in advance
Marc

From where you know that's an G-14 from the 465xxx - range? Could it be an G-10-frame too?

Greetings Rasmussen

P.S.: The location wasn't Leipzig-Mockau. They used another type of hangars.

Thanks Jörg!

Actually Gregor Guttenberger just pointed out the right side half moon under the windscreen convincingly. We thus have either a G-14/AS or a G-10. What about the Erla factory W.Nr. Could this number 50278 written in the usual Erla position in the central space of the fuselage Balkenkreuz be one ? Were they still used at that late time ?
And thanks for the airfield. Scratch that one. What about other locations ? Erfurt ?

Cheers

Hello Marc-Andre'

if this is a Erla Werknummer 50.278,it is RLM Werknummer 151.992, a Bf 109 G10/R6, manufactured late March 1945 and then "abgestellt". That means, the completely finished aircraft was not delivered to Luftwaffe, but simply put on storage at the manufacturer, presumably not even having a BAL Abnahme.

There are quite a few newly a/c put aside in March/April 1945. I can only guess on the reasons for this, perhaps lack of gas, perhaps no need for Bf 109s any more, perhaps no pilots for acceptance or delivery. Rasmussen is the expert on Erla, perhaps he can enlighten us.

Cheeers
