The best match for the Ju 88 on that list seems to be 1T+FT (no Werk Nummer). The He 111s listed are: W.Nr. 110137, 1H+HP; W.Nr. 7112, 1H+FH; W.Nr. 7237, 1H+LK; and W.Nr. 8125, 1H+DP. (7237 was first reported as 7257 but corrected later). |
Re: eBAy: Captured german planes
So in the fall of 1943 a Ju 88 coded "1T+FT" should have belonged to 9./KG 26. This unit was equipped with Ju 88s and was based in Southern France. To me this fits the information we have on this photo...

Additionally, evidence from Flugbücher shows this aircraft was 4R+EP flown by Ofw. Robert Lüddeke on the night of 13-14 February 1945, with his crew of Fw. Ulrich Hess and Kurt Wacker. Ofw. Lüddeke took off from Fl. Pl. Mainz-Finthen at 20.55 hrs on 13 February, and crash-landed at the same airfield at 00.32 hrs on 14 February. The crash-landing resulted in the 20% airframe damage recorded in the Genst.Gen.Qu.6.Abt return. |

Unless the first owner of this album has made a trip in South Africa I'd say this is a SAAF album; SA at least. ... Because of the Basuto girls, of course. ... Gelbe 7, or Red ?, known photo. Weisse 5, WNr.8477, at El Adem Regards, Franck. |
