https://www.flickr.com/photos/leonan...NH1YZOg4omVKVs Both those Erla built Bf 109 G-10's were lost 2 March 1945, belly landing after air combat on that day - with no indication given of their tactical marking. 2 March 1945 was a sinister date for JG 301 as it lost 20 Bf 109's, all Erla produced Bf 109 G-10's. Re: eBAy: Captured german planes
Post #3721 - A JG300 loss list says that WNr. 491241 was Erla-built Bf 109 G-10, 5+ white, from 10./III./JG300. Its pilot, Dyk, Uffz. Ferdinand, was KIA in LK with P-51s on 44/12/31 and crashed at Altenhorst-Hannover (Kaltenweide?)

I have the same issue both in Michael Balss's loss list and Jim Perry and George Morrison's one except they both quote Uffz. Ferdinand Dyck's machine as being "Weisse 8", 10./JG 300. Where shall we go from there ? A typo for 490241 ? No information available on this W.Nr. alas... Cheers Marc |
Re: eBAy: Captured german planes
Marc,
I think the answer may appear in volume 13/VI, or later, volumes of Die Jagdfliegerverbände der Deutschen Luftwaffe 1934 bis 1945. |

Re: eBAy: Captured german planes
Hello Rudi,
Post #3750 – Thanks for your hard work. These are a nice find of a new-to-me Fi 156 C or D marked, I believe, 4N+XI or 4N+XL. I sure wish sellers could/would add any US unit identifications or location details. Respectfully, Steve Sheflin |
Re: eBAy: Captured german planes
Hello Steve, some if the seller’s recent photos were taken at Braunschweig. So, the Fi 156 may also have been found there. Regards, Roger
