RAF Pilots vs Luftwaffe Jets

Where any RAF pilots/gunners credited with shooting down any Luftwaffe jet aircraft?

Regards,
Mike

The 1st jet shot (Me262) down by the RAF was by Spitfire IXs of 401 Sqd around Oct 5 1944.

Tempests claimed 7 Me262s and 3 Ar234s.

Typhoons claimed 3 Me262s.

2 TAF claims will be found in Shores/Thomas 3rd volume. For other forces, there may be more described in Bomber Command War Diaries, covering the day raids, but I haven't looked specifically for them.

Just a minor point: 401 Squadron was an RCAF unit, operating within the RAF.

Their first jet kill was on 5 October 1944, over Arnhem-Nijmegan. The claim was shared by 5 pilots.

The RCAF's first solo jet kill was on 25 December 1944, S/L J.E. Collier of 403 Squadron, RCAF in a Spitfire XVI.

Hello,

An Australian pilot, P/O John Melvill HASLOPE, from 165 Sqdn, flying a Mustang Mk III, shot down a Me 163 over Leipzig, on 10th April 1945.

So what? Being under operational control does not change nationality of forces in any moment. If Polish troops in Iraq or Afghanistan were under any other control rather than Polish, does this mean they have ceased to be Polish?
