3 Hudson Losses 20/21 March 1945

Hello, how are you all doing?

During the night of 20/21 March 1945, 3 Hudson's from the 161sq. out of Tempsford were shot down. F/L Ferris and his crew near Baraque Fraiture in Belgium. F/L Helfer and his crew near Asselborne in Luxembourg. But the third one flown by F/O Ragan and his crew, anyone has some information about where it came down?

Hope someone has more info.

Lars.

This should be in the 'Allied and Soviet Air Forces' section...

You may get a lot more responses, and information, there.

Good evening mhuxt !

Is a correct serial of this Hudson in particular available ?.

In the threat you mentioned the a/c serial is AE595. "Air Britain Publication, RAF Aircraft AA100 to AZ999" reports, that a Lockheed Hudson with the s/n AE595 was not delivered.

Best regards !

If that's a pop at me, then this is how the title to that section is, exactly:
Allied and Soviet Air Forces

Go take a look.

There is no mention of the Luftwaffe/Axis in the post, hence my comment about it being properly placed there.

Hi Horst,

Don't know about the serial numbers. That particular bit of info didn't come from me - Paul citing Phil Mertens' article.

At one point I believe the After The Battle article was available online, can't find it now.

I have checked back in the Battle Orders for 161 Sqdn and the serial number AE595 is quite clear in all entries that I have looked at.

"Lockheed Hudson In World War II" says not delivered.

Thank you all for you're replies. I will look into it abit further. The reason I was asking is that I was in contact with mr. Mertens who wrote the the article in ATB No. 119 and he told me that there was a 3rd Hudson crash in Dochamps. I thought it could be this one.

Sit72300 talked about checking the battle orders for the 161sq. where can I find those?
