Barkhorn's biography
Surfing on the net I found this website:
http://www.jg52.net/ritterkreuztraeg...hard-barkhorn/ where you can read: "... Bernd Barbas, recherchiert derzeit schon intensiv für ein Buch über Barkhorn, dieses wird voraussichtlich im nächsten Jahr ( 2011 ) erscheinen." In english it sounds (more or less) "Barbas is working on a book about Barkhorn that will be published next year (2011)". If so it will be fantastic.... Flavio |

Re: Barkhorn's biography
From facebook:
Hello friends, once more it has been a long time since we have written, but as usual that only means, that we have been busy working. Here is the the new project, a phantastic large format book about the second best fighter-pilot from the Luftwaffe, Gerhard Barkhorn (301 victories). The book tells, completely in english and german language, about his life and shows amongst a lot of large b/w-photos also about 40 colour-photos. Some of these made by Barkhorn himself while he was flying over the Kaukasus. The book also contents 15 large-size colour-profiles of all the mashines that Barkhorn flew as well as claim-lists and more informations about Barkhorn. You will see, we have taken great efforts with this project! The price will be approx. 54,- Euro + shipping. More information will be available in May. Until then, we wish all of you a wonderful springtime! Axel and Benedicte |

Re: Barkhorn's biography
I am looking forward - Barkhorn was a very competent officer. I had him as CO for a short period. He turned up during a Wintex exercise dressed in an old orange flying suit without rank and everybody assumed that he was an old Feldwebel. After the exercise he turned up in a general's uniform and took over. He had a chance to see how his new staff was working and a few persons were removed shortly after.
