19 Sqn Losses

Can anyone identify those 19 Sqn Spitfires lost in 1941 which ended in crash landings? Jock Cunningham on 28 Aug was one but what others as I have just obtained a photo which is clearly of a 19 Sqn ac with 3 German soldiers clambering over it

Re: 19 Sqn Losses

I presume you mean "lost" on the other side?

Re: 19 Sqn Losses

Indeed-lost means lost to the enemy in this case

Re: 19 Sqn Losses

Chris,

Have you tried to browse the Spitfire production list? http://www.airhistory.org.uk/spitfire/_prodn%20list.txt

It's a bit of a task to do (use "19S" as search function) and you may find (all?) Spitfires of 19 Squadron lost in 1941 on this side of the Channel.

See e.g. P7547, P7693, P7771, P7813 and no doubt several more.

Regards,

Leendert

Re: 19 Sqn Losses

I am about to do that-I was hoping for an easier option! An earlier post lists:

27-6-41 - Andrews - P7379
27-6-41 - Cowley - P7813
21-7-41 - Oxlin - P7547
21-7-42 - Tucker - P7890
07-8-41 - Plzak - P7771
12-8-41 - Calvert - P7693

Code looks like QV-P or R
