Hi Franck,
great finds :) - the second set of photos shows Me 262 TS+MB and Fw 190 TF+LL in Oberwiesenfeld, Munich.

Dear ChristianK,

I think the Me 262 might be T9 rather than TS. While the photo says Munich, which I would have assumed meant Munich-Riem, you say otherwise. From where do you get your information?

Richard

Hi Richard,
the location is verified by comparison of about 30 war- and peacetime photos of Oberwiesenfeld and is a hundred percent correct.

Another photo of this Me 262 can be found in the old Luftwaffe Verband issue 36. I've attached it for you - and you are even correct, it could be "T9" instead of "TS", but there were such a lot of Bf 109s and Bf 110s coded "TS+MB" found at Schleißheim, which is very close to Oberwiesenfeld, that it is very likely that our Me 262 originally belonged to that bunch (TS+MB is not a Stammkennzeichen but some kind of an universal marking allocated to Technische Schule - Motor, based at Schleißheim. Also see this thread: http://forum.12oclockhigh.net/showthread.php?t=28005).

There is one other photo showing a part of this Me 262s tail, but sadly, no Werknummer can be seen.

Cheers,
Christian

Dear ChristianK,

Thank you for your explanation. So, TS+MB is not a factory code, but actually a training unit code. Very interesting.

Warmest regards,
Richard

Hi Guys,

I hope you seen on the Me262 taken at Wright-Field the back part of the engines have been mounted in front, and the contrary. On both... And there is a large Messerchmitt painted on left fuselage side.

Re: eBay: Some Me 262s 14/10

Dear Franck,

I think that is the cover for the Riedel starter, although it is not properly mounted. That, or it is a fake cover. The tail bullet has no center hole for the pull starter.

Thanks for pointing out the word "Messerschmitt". I'd completely missed it. I don't recall seeing any other photo showing this.

Regards,
Richard

Hello everyone,

Regarding Frank’s second photo in Post#1 (Fw190A-4, WNr.142522, TF+LL 4, marked as found in “Munich”), I have other photographs of this distinctive aircraft, as well as other similarly-marked Fw190A-4s. Multiple sources indicate that these aircraft were abandoned at Straubing.

Clarification of the correct location will be welcome.

Hi Steve,
shouldn't be this a A-5? I think the AGO block for the A-4 ended at WNr.0142520 and then the A-5 started. Additionally it served with 2./Erg.Gr. FlÜG 1 in May 1944. Maybe with this, one can pin point the location?

Regards,
Norbert
