While we are at it... I am having trouble figuring out another system of Quadrate used in Luftwaffe reports - examples (Russia, summer 1943): ZP7d, XQ9, ZQ1? Any ideas?

Kind regards,
Pawel

Hi Pawel,
That is the post APR 1943 format, but you miss the Jagdtrapeze (e.g. 34 ON).

SES, whatever system it is, I figured out how to layer the coordinates over Heeres 1:100.000 map of Belgorod area and it seems to work :)

kind regards,
Pawel

Hi Pawel,
Congrats, how did you do that, since Z as you pointed out so correctly is not a legal value.

Re: Jägergradnetzkarte

Well, the coordinates are not compatible with post-may 1943 LUMA, and as I said I have not a slightest idea what it should be called - was it Luftwaffe or Heeres notation - but it was used throughout III./K.G. 55 diary and also in one daily report of IV. Fl.Korps.
For example - the quadrant ZP is divided in 9 parts, 3x3 matrix - ZP1 to ZP9, that would cover rectangulars formed by the grid on 1:100.000 map. Letter I seems to be illegal.

kind regards,
Pawel

Hi Evgeny,
Excactly what is it you want to know?
On this page you'll find a converter - LUMA - which will convert your coordinates into lat/long:
