Re: About pilot Uffz. Manfred PAPFKA (JG 54, JG 300) :
1943-11-23, 5./JG 54, Fw 190 F-2, 1501328, 5 schw, Ostryjki (Pl.Qu. 00183)
Flugzeugführer Ogfr Peschke, Manfred, verletzt Überschlag bei Notlandung infolge Motorstörung und Flugzeug am Boden verbrannt. Bruch 90 %. GQM gives 1943-11-22 and WNr. 1328. Matti |
Re: About pilot Uffz. Manfred PAPFKA (JG 54, JG 300) :
How odd Matti
I have 1501328 as an A-5 model. Cheers Stig |
Re: About pilot Uffz. Manfred PAPFKA (JG 54, JG 300) :
Stig, you may be right. GQM gives A-5 but according to my notes (from NVM?) it was F-2. However, 5./JG 54 operated at that time only A-4 and A-5 and therefore it would be strange to have F-version, which was intended for Schl.Gs.

Re: About pilot Uffz. Manfred PAPFKA (JG 54, JG 300) :
Hallo again Matti
I should have checked my other books first. According to Dietmar Hermann the two initial versions of the F model (F-1 and F-2) were in fact aliasis for the A-4/U-3 and A-5/U-3, so in fact not strange at all that the ID F-2 could be used at the same time as A-5 (or more precise A-5/U-3). My apologies In the case of aircraft being JG 54 operated, the ID A-5 is perhaps more appropriate.... Cheers Stig |
Re: About pilot Uffz. Manfred PAPFKA (JG 54, JG 300) :
Gerhard, Matti and Stig !
Thank you so much ! Very precious information. Please : 1- what does it mean "5 schw, Ostryjki (Pl.Qu. 00183)" ? 2- Which book (Lorant ?) studies with event ? This important event is not listed in his Flugbuch … or ... disappeared ... because these pages are missing unfortunately … Merci Philippe |
